Similarities And Differences Between Momcozy Vs TSRETE Breast Pump

The Momcozy S9 Pro and TSRETE S12 are two of the most popular budget wearable breast pumps on the market.

In this comparison, I will discuss the similarities and significant distinctions between these pumps, so you can decide which one is right for you.

momcozy and tsrete breast pumps

Flange Design

Both the TSRETE breast pump and Momcozy S9 Pro have a similar single sealed breast shield/flange design.

In terms of flange sizing there are some differences.

The Momcozy S9 Pro comes with a default flange size of 24mm, and for added customization, additional flange sizes are included in your kit (17mm, 19mm, and 21mm). You also have the option to purchase a 27mm flange for a larger fit,

On the other side, there are two choices when it comes to the default flange size of the TSRETE.

You can purchase the pump with a 24mm or 27mm flange size. Just be sure to choose the correct size when you make your purchase! For added customization, they only include 1 set of additional flange sizes in the kit: 21mm with the 24mm size and 24mm with the 27mm size.

So, if you’re not sure on your flange size, the Momcozy S9 Pro does make it a little easier to find your fit, directly from the kit.

I also love that Momcozy have included a nipple size chart to help you determine your correct nipple size, whereas unfortunately, there is no nipple size chart included with the TSRETE pump.

momcozy vs tsrete

Pumping Modes And Suction Levels

There are some key similarities when it comes to the suction levels and pumping modes of the Momcozy S9 pro and TSRETE breast pump.

Firstly, both devices provide 9 levels of suction intensity, which allows you to increase the level of suction based on your comfort and milk output.

Both also have 2 modes: stimulation/massage for letdown and expression/pumping for milk expression.

Where they differ is in their suction strength.

Momcozy is more powerful with a 280~300mmHg suction force compared with up to 245mmHg for the TSRETE S12.

Whilst I do prefer the Momcozy option for a more powerful suction strength to help with milk extraction, I do think it’s important to keep in mind that the strongest suction force may not always yield the best results.

Prioritizing your comfort and relaxation during the pumping session is equally crucial for facilitating optimal milk flow.

Collection Cups

In terms of collection cups, both pumps are very similar.

Both have a 6oz capacity and both are transparent in design with a detachable motor connected to the top.

I love that both pump containers also come with an east to pour feature, so you end up with less spillage of your liquid gold!

Battery Life And Charging

The most notable difference between the TSRETE breast pump and Momcozy S9 Pro is their battery life. And whilst it might not be at the top of your list, I think considering the battery life and charging capabilities of your breast pump is a key factor, especially if you’re looking for a pump to have on the go.

Starting with the TSRETE S12 breast pump, its battery life provides a usage duration of approximately 80 minutes on a single charge. This works out to be around 3 to 4 pumping sessions, given the average pumping session is around 20mins.

The recharge takes 2.5hrs via USB.

Whilst I think this is fine for part time or occasional pumpers, the limited battery life would not be suitable for full time pumpers.

In comparison, the Momcozy S9 Pro offers a surprisingly long-life battery. Its impressive battery longevity, capable of lasting up to 180 minutes or approximately 7 to 9 pumping sessions on a single full charge. That is 100 minutes more pumping time than the TSRETE pump!

So, if you’re looking to use your pump multiple times throughout the day or full-time, I would definitely opt for the Momcozy S9 Pro.

Similar to the TSRETE, the recharge on the S9 Pro takes 2.5hrs via USB.

tsrete breast pump vs momcozy led screen

LED Screen

Firstly, I love that both the Momcozy and TSRETE pumps are equipped with LED screens that serve as intuitive interfaces for users to monitor and control their pumping sessions.

These screens offer a visual display of vital information such as suction levels, pumping modes, and session duration, enabling mothers to stay informed and make real-time adjustments as needed.

However, there are some key differences between the two pumps when it comes to their LED screens.

The Momcozy S9 Pro, while featuring an LED screen, emphasizes its role in delivering essential information in a straightforward manner. It ensures that users can easily grasp and manage their pumping sessions without unnecessary complexity.

The LED screen is super simple and only covers the basics such as battery life and suction level.

On the other hand, the TSRETE S12 takes the LED screen functionality a step further.

This breast pump introduces a much larger LED screen that integrates a memory function, saving users’ preferred settings for subsequent sessions. This feature streamlines the setup process and eliminates the need for manual adjustments each time, enhancing user efficiency.

What I really love about the TSRETE S12 LED screen is that it also features a timer. I think this is a very valuable feature to easily keep track of your pumping session.

The only downside of the TSRETE LED screen is that the LED light does not turn off whilst in use which I feel can limit its discretion, especially if you are wearing a thin top.

The light on the Momcozy LED screen turns off after 15 seconds and will turn back on when you push a button.

tsrete vs momcozy

Portability

What I love about the TSRETE and Momcozy breast pumps is that they are both wearable and thus acknowledge the significance of portability in modern motherhood.

They are designed to enable mothers to maintain their pumping routines while on the move, without being tethered to a single location. This shared goal ensures that nursing mothers can seamlessly integrate pumping into their busy lives, regardless of their whereabouts.

Both pumps come with a convenient bra adjustment buckle feature that you’re sure to love, just as I do! This clever buckle allows you to easily adapt the pump’s size to fit your existing bras, eliminating the need to purchase new ones dedicated to pumping sessions.

In terms of size, they are very similar, though the pump motor is slightly larger and heavier on the Momcozy S9 Pro, but the difference it is negligible.

Noise

Both the Momcozy S9 Pro and TSRETE S12 have a quiet operation, however the TSRETE breast pump is noticeably quieter at less than 40dB. The Momcozy operates at less than 50dB.

Whilst the Momcozy S9Pro is reasonably quiet, and around the house you probably won’t notice the pumping.

If there’s a sleeping baby in the room, your breast pump shouldn’t wake them up.

However, if you’re out and about or in a quiet work environment, the S9 Pro may feel more conspicuous.

Price And Value For Money

Given both the features of these pumps, you may not be surprised to learn that the Momcozy S9 Pro is slightly more expensive than the TSRETE S12.

I think the extended battery life and more powerful suction that the Momcozy S9 Pro offers, is worth the additional cost, especially if you are looking to pump multiple times throughout the day.

However, there are some great features on the TSRETE S12 such as the larger LED screen with timer and quieter operation, that may make it more appealing to part time or occasional pumpers, especially for the lower price point.

That said, I think both provide excellent value for money especially when compared with other premium pumps on the market such as Willow and Elvie.
