UPPAbaby Minu Review

Are you trying to decide if the UppaBaby Minu is the right stroller for you and your baby?

Then let us help you decide with our in-depth Uppababy Minu review.

Do you need a lightweight stroller that’s portable without sacrificing comfort? UPPAbaby is a premium stroller manufacturer, known for their popular Vista stroller.

The Minu is the little sibling of the Vista, offering a lighter build without sacrificing that UPPAbaby quality.

Compact strollers are excellent for frequent travelers, thanks to the small fold and reduced weight.

However, to make these light strollers, comfort for both the parents and the baby often gets neglected. The Minu is intended to be different: a compact stroller that doesn’t lose any of the quality.

In this review, we’ve taken a close look at the UPPAbaby Minu, to see if it lives up to the quality we’ve come to expect from UPPAbaby.

Read on to find out about it’s features, what we like, what we don’t like, and whether this is a stroller to recommend.

All About The UPPAbaby Minu

The little sibling of the famous UPPAbaby Vista, the Uppababy Minu V2 is a compact stroller designed for easy family life.

The small build and lightweight frame include a larger seat for extra comfort, with easy steering for parents. The Minu is a compact stroller intended to be used every day and for trips away!

We’ll begin by taking a look at the dimensions. The UPPAbaby Minu V2 weighs 16.9 lbs, and the unfolded dimensions are 35.5” L x 20.3” W x 41” H.

Folded, the UPPAbaby Minu V2 measures 11.5” L x 20.3” W x 23” H. The UPPAbaby Minu is designed for children from 3 months to roughly 4 years, although it can be used from birth with the bassinet, which is sold separately.

UPPAbaby created the Minu to be a travel stroller with the quality you’d expect to find in a full size stroller.

The Minu was a hugely popular stroller, but with some flaws. UPPAbaby used parental feedback to create the Minu V2. But how does it perform?

Pros

  • Stylish design made from sturdy, durable components.
  • Folds with the press of a button.
  • The bar in front of the seat offers extra support, so your child can sit up.
  • Comfortable seat with adjustable recline.
  • Sunproof extendable canopy.
  • Spring-loaded suspension.

What We Like About The UPPAbaby Minu

UPPAbaby is known as a premium stroller company, creating high level, quality strollers.

This quality is immediately clear in the UPPAbaby Minu, which is a sleek and attractive design. We like a lot of the features of the Minu, so let’s take a look at what stands out.

Large Seat

The UPPAbaby Minu is a compact stroller, but one area that certainly isn’t lacking in size is the seat.

Wide and able to hold up to 50 lbs, this is a roomy seat for your growing child. The seat also comes with a no-rethread harness, for easier strap adjustments and improved security.

Compact Fold

The fold is one of our favorite things about the UPPAbaby Minu, both V1 and V2. The Minu folds and collapses quickly and easily.

Simply press the handlebar button, squeeze the trigger, and collapse the Minu forward. It can then be locked into place.

With just one hand, the UPPAbaby Minu can be collapsed completely. So, you can keep a hold on the baby as you fold the stroller. It’s so easy to use, and once folded the stroller can stand upright.

UPPAbaby have actually updated the lock on the Minu V2, to make unfolding easier. It now has a hinge lock.

It’s less rigid, and easier to operate in a rush. The hinge is also less prone to breaking, which was an issue with the Minu V1.

Travel Friendly

The Minu is the compact stroller from UPPAbaby, which makes it an excellent choice for traveling.

Weighing just 16.9 lbs and with that exceptionally easy fold, the compact stroller is ideal for use on public transport, and fits easily into most car trunks.

Traveling with the Minu V2 is excellent, as the all-wheel suspension absorbs shock on numerous surfaces.

With an included carry handle and travel strap, it’s easy to get around with the Minu. And the one-handed fold really adds to the portability — you can get the stroller up and down without having to struggle with your luggage.

Multi-Position Recline

The UPPAbaby Minu comes with multi-position recline, including an almost-flat position.

It’s easy to adjust the recline, and it moves smoothly when you’re trying to keep your little one comfortable. It doesn’t have a total recline, but we’re pleased with just how adjustable the seat is.

The leg rest is also adjustable in the V2, which is an improvement on the original Minu. The leg/calf rest has been redesigned for added comfort and support, improving the daily use of the Minu

Vented Canopy

The UPPAbaby Minu comes with an extendable sun canopy designed to offer shade and comfort on sunny days.

Made with UPF 50+ fabric, the canopy improves safety, allowing you to get outdoors even when the sun is strong.

A peekaboo window lets parents keep an eye on the baby, while the vented design ensures consistent airflow.

Parents will also love that the canopy comes with an attached storage pocket! It’s a small pocket, but it does allow you to keep your phone, keys, purse, or even a small snack to hand as you move!

Easy Steering

With just a light push, the UPPAbaby Minu will start gliding easily across a number of surfaces.

It rolls lightly, with a responsive movement that is most impressive in city crowds. Front and rear suspension makes for a smoother ride for both parents and baby.

The lightweight frame of the Minu moves incredibly intuitively. The V2 is several pounds heavier than the V1, but you hardly notice it. When steering, the V2 glides, even with that additional weight.

Overall, the steering of the Minu V2 is exceptional. As a compact stroller, it does perform best on flat, even surfaces.

Large Basket

Despite being a compact stroller, there’s plenty of room in the underseat basket. The Minu V2 can hold 20 lbs, and the spacious area fits even bulky items — including your diaper bag!

With the addition of the pocket in the canopy, parents will find the Minu V2 a convenient stroller for shopping trips.

As well as offering ample room, the underseat storage basket is easy to use and access. The V2 has a hinged side lock, which improves the security from the design of the V1.

Overall Quality

UPPAbaby is a premium manufacturer, and this is clear in the high quality materials used across the Minu.

Even the handlebar is covered with 100% full-grain leather, for comfortable gripping. All the materials used are durable, and the finish of the product is incredible.

There are multiple color options available, and you can order a fabric swatch from UPPAbaby to check out the style before buying. The Minu looks sleek and stylish.

What We Don’t Like About The UPPAbaby Minu

We’ll be honest — there isn’t much to dislike about the UPPAbaby Minu V2. Small issues with the V1 have been removed for the updated version, and the V1 was already an exceptional design.

Not Overhead Compartment Compatible

The UPPAbaby Minu is a travel stroller, and for the most part, it’s a very good travel stroller.

However, while the compact fold is small, it isn’t small enough to fit in many overhead compartments. This means if traveling by airplane, you might need to check your stroller.

We recommend double-checking with your chosen airline before traveling. The Minu can fit in some overhead compartments, so it’s always worth calling in advance.

Additional Accessories

If you want to expand the use of your stroller with additional accessories, then the Minu V2 has a huge amount of options.

From game changers such as the bassinet and ride-along board, to small (but useful) add-ons like a cup holder and snack tray.

While the wealth of accessories is a plus, the UPPAbaby Minu comes with very little included.

As a premium design with so many potential extras (and a high price) it would be nice for UPPAbaby to include a few accessories to sweeten the deal.

Multi Terrain

The Minu is a stroller designed for use around the city, and this is where it performs best.

Outside the city, the Minu won’t steer anywhere near as well. This is not an all terrain stroller, and the light build can’t handle uneven surfaces with much skill.

This is to be executed from a compact stroller, and the Minu performs well compared to lower quality models.

Final Thoughts on Uppababy Minu Review

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 is a fantastic stroller. Combining both comfort and portability, the overall build is lightweight and stylish, with premium materials adding an impressive finish.

We love the steering of the UPPAbaby Minu V2. It’s incredibly responsive, with just a light push needed to get moving.

The small build makes it easier to turn in even tight spaces, and adds to the overall portability. A compact one-handed fold makes the Minu great for on the go.

The UPPAbaby Minu is a compact stroller, so it might not be ideal for daily use. The wheels and steering are designed for city streets, and will struggle when off-road.

Overall, the Minu performs well, and the UPPAbaby quality is clear in the build. We highly recommend this stroller for anyone interested in a premium travel stroller that provides comfort for both parents and baby.
