Similarities and Differences Between Uppababy Vs Nuna Strollers

Nuna and UPPAbaby are both popular brands of strollers that offer high-quality and versatile options for parents. So, let’s take a look at some of the similarities and differences between the two brands of strollers.

Quality

Both Nuna and UPPAbaby strollers are made with high-quality materials such as aluminum frames and durable fabrics that are easy to clean and maintain. This ensures that the strollers can withstand daily use and last for years.

Both brands offer warranties on their strollers, which demonstrates their confidence in the quality of their products.

Price

Comparing the prices between the strollers brands and models is a little tricky.

In general, Nuna strollers tend to be slightly more expensive than UPPAbaby strollers, with the exception of the UPPAbaby Vista V2 which is the most expensive stroller between the two brands.

However, the UPPAbaby Vista V2 does come with more accessories such as a bassinet which may make it better value than the Nuna Demi where you need to purchase a bassinet seperately.

UPPAbaby also has the cheapest stroller from the two brands, the UPPAbaby G-Lite.

Safety Features

Both Nuna and UPPAbaby prioritize safety in their stroller designs, with features such as five-point harnesses, adjustable canopies with UV protection, and all-wheel suspension systems that provide a smooth ride for the baby.

We love that Nuna strollers meet the standards for Greenguard Gold certification. Whilst UPPAbaby strollers are certified by the JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturing Association).

Accessories

Both Nuna and UPPAbaby offer a variety of accessories for their strollers, such as rain covers, sunshades, and cup holders, to enhance the functionality and convenience of the stroller.

Car Seat Compatibility

When it comes to car seat compatibility there are a few things to consider.

All Nuna strollers are compatible with the Nuna PIPA series of car seats, however they are not compatible with other car seat brands. This can be an issue if you prefer another car seat brand or you already have one that you were planning to use.

On the other hand not all UPPAbaby strollers are car seat compatible. However, those that are, are compatible with the UPPAbaby MESA infant car seat without the need for adapters. And the big plus is that you can also get special adapters for it for a whole range of other manufacturer’s car seats, which means you have a lot more variety to choose from.

These include:

  • UPPAbaby MESA, MESA V2, and MESA Max (no adapters required)
  • Chicco KeyFit 35, KeyFit 30, KeyFit 30 Zip, KeyFit 30 Zip Air, Fit2, Fit2 Air (with car adapter)

UPPAbaby Vista V2 vs Nuna Mixx

As there is such a large ranges of strollers between these two brands, we have chosen to specifically compare UPPAbaby Vista V2 vs Nuna Mixx. These are both their most popular strollers, so we think that it gives you a good idea of the differences and similarities between the two brands.

Materials

As you may expect from high brands, both strollers feature top quality materials, with a metal frame, and quality fabrics.

The UPPAbaby has a real leather cover on the handlebar, whereas the Nuna has a leatherette grip.

Versatility

When it comes to versatility, UPPABaby Vista V2 is a clear winner. We love that is can be expanded into a double stroller with ride-along board option for a third child.

The Nuna Mix does not expand into double stroller (although the Nuna Demi Grow stroller does).

Seat Positioning

Both strollers offer reversible seat which allows the child face away from the parent in their stroller seat or you can also reposition the seat so that they can face the parent if preferred.

Moreover, both strollers offer a one-handed recline adjustment. The only real difference between the two in this regard is that the Nuna MIXX offers a fully flat recline, and the leg part of the UPPAbaby is also independently adjustable.

Canopy

Both strollers have excellent 3 panel canopies that offer UPF 50+ protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays.

The UPPAbaby has two peel-a-boo mesh windows for ventilation, whereas the Nuna has just one. What’s more, the UPPAbaby canopy is noticeably larger than the Nuna one.

Weight

To be honest, if we are to look at bother the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Nuna Mixx, neither of these strollers are particularly lightweight, with both weighing exactly 27 pounds.

However, both Nuna vs Uppababy have a range of strollers including lightweight models.

Wheels

Both the Nuna and the UPPAbaby use a four-wheel setup. This means that they aren’t quite as easy to maneuver as those with just 3 wheels, but it does help that the rear wheels are much larger than the front two in both instances.

The UPPAbaby VISTA V2 has 11.5″ wheels in the back and 8″ wheels at the front,  all made of polyurethane, and there’s a suspension system in place.

The Nuna Mixx has 11-inch rubber tires on the rear, filled with foam, and 7.5-inch plastic wheels at the front. It also has an all-wheel suspension system.

Handlebar

Both UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Nuna Mixx strollers feature an adjustable handlebar.

Compact Folding

As you may expect from both these brands, both their most popular strollers can fold down quite compactly to fit in your trunk. The measurements are as follows:

Nuna MIXX: 34″ x 23.5″ x 18″

UPPAbaby VISTA V2: 17.3″ x 25.7″ x 33.3″

Ease Of Folding And Unfolding

Both strollers are easy and straightforward to fold down, and to unfold, although neither of them offer one-handed folding.

What we do like though, is that the Nuna Mixx trolleys when folded for easy carrying.

Storage Basket Capacity

Both strollers feature a very large storage basket underneath the seat for your diaper bag and shopping bags. And both baskets are very easily accessible from the back of the stroller.

The Nuna MIXX storage basket features a foldable divider for organizing your gear, and a zippered pocket for valuables such as your wallet, keys and phone.

The UPPAbaby VISTA V2 storage basket is considerably larger, one of the biggest on the market. What’s more, it can hold up to a whopping 30 pounds in weight.
