Similarities And Differences Between MomMed S10 Pro Vs S21

The S10 Pro and S21 are two of the most popular breast pumps in the MomMed range. In this comparison, I will discuss the similarities and significant distinctions between these pumps.

Pumping Modes And Suction Levels

I think the most notable differences between the MomMed S21 and S10 Pro is the difference in suction levels.

Firstly, both devices have 3 pumping modes, Massage, Expression, and Auto.

But when it comes to the suction levels the MomMed S21 shines.

The MomMed S21 offers 12 different suction levels versus just 9 with the S10 Pro. Whilst 9 suction levels are still more than enough to give you adequate control over your comfort and output levels during your pumping session, I feel that the 12 sessions are very advantageous, especially for those mothers with sensitive nipples.

I found that the S10 also had a slightly stronger suction sensation to it, most likely due to lesser control with the suction levels.

mommed s10 vs s21 size comparison

Collection Cups

Another, notable difference between the two pumps is the size of the collection cups.

The MomMed S21 has a container capacity of 6 ounces, while the S10 Pro takes a stride ahead with a much larger 8-ounce capacity.

I think it’s important to note that although both pumps can accommodate more, it’s advisable to pump within a 4 oz range for optimal efficiency.

Where the 8 oz capacity is particularly advantageous though, is for mothers who tend to express a significant volume of milk during each pumping session or those who prefer less frequent pumping throughout the day. The larger container reduces the need for frequent emptying, enabling you to concentrate on expressing milk without interruptions and maximizing pumping efficiency.

I do love that both pump containers are transparent in design so you can easily track your milk output at a glance, as well both are designed with an easy-to-pour feature, which minimizes the chance of spillage of your valuable liquid gold!

Battery Life And Charging

If you’re looking for a pump with a long-lasting battery, then this is where the S10 Pro excels!

Its impressive battery longevity, capable of lasting up to 180 minutes or approximately 6 to 8 pumping sessions on a single full charge.

In comparison, the MomMed S21 battery life offers approximately 150 minutes of use on a single charge which equates to around 5-6 pumping sessions.

While I think the S21’s battery life proves sufficient for part-time pumpers, if you’re looking to use your pump multiple time throughout the day or full-time, you may find the battery life lacking.

In terms of recharging time, both pumps take around 2.5 hours to fully recharge via a USB charging port.

mommed s10 vs s21 led screens

LED Screen

Both the S21 and S10 Pro offer a very similar experience in terms of a simple, easy to use LED screen. The S10 Pro is slightly larger, whilst the S21 has a curved design.

These screens provide a visual presentation of crucial details including suction levels, pumping modes, and battery life.

I find the S10 Pro is slightly more user friendly in design as it has 4 clear buttons to operate the pump, whilst with the S21 there are only 3 buttons. This means on the S21 the power button also doubles as the button to switch between mode. I don’t think this is an issue but it may be a little more confusing for first time pumpers.

I love that both pumps have an in-built timer as this feature enables you to easily keep track of your pumping session and make adjustments as necessary.

mommed breast pump flange designs

Flange Design

Both the S10 Pro and S21 are the same in terms of flange design. Both come with a default 27mm silicone breast shield combined with a 24mm flange.

Additionally, you have the option to purchase 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, and 24mm size flanges and a 24mm breast shield separately.

Both have a double sealed flange to help prevent leaks.

Portability

Portability and discretion are pivotal when looking for a wearable breast pump, and I think both the MomMed S10 Pro and S21 do a great job.

Both pumps feature an ingenious bra adjustment buckle that lets you adapt your current pumping bra for the MomMed pumps rather than having to invest in new ones.

Both pumps are lightweight at just 230g per pump.

However, due to the larger collection cup, the S10 Pro is larger than the discreet all-in-one design of the S21. I do think that MomMed has compensated well for this by changing the shape of the motor to have an angled design rather than the box shape of the S21.

That being said whilst I believe the S10 Pro still remains discreet, it is still larger that the S21 which you may want to take into consideration.

Noise

When it comes to noise, both the MomMed pump have a noise level less than 45dB.

I think this noise range is very quiet, and within the confines of your home, the sound of pumping is likely to be hardly noticeable.

This is great especially for nighttime pumping where you don’t want to disturb your baby.

If you’re pumping at work or on the go, the pumps might be slightly noticeable due to their sound, but overall, I think these are very quiet.

Price And Value For Money

In terms of price, again I think these two pumps are very comparable. And both are very affordable for a hands-free breast pump!

The MomMed S21 is slightly more expensive than the S10, which I think makes sense given the additional control you have with the 12 suction levels.

However, when we talk about price, the difference is only around $10 so it is very minimal.

Overall, I really do think that both pumps offer exceptional value for the price, particularly when compared with other premium pumps in the market, such as Willow and Elvie.

Final Thoughts

After using and testing both breast pumps, I believe both the MomMed S10 Pro and S21 breast pumps present themselves as great options for an affordable wearable breast pump.

The MomMed S10 Pro shines with its extended battery life, large capacity, and affordability.

On the flip side, the MomMed S21 offers a more comfortable and precise adjustment over your pumping session.

In the end, the decision between the MomMed S10 Pro and S21 boils down to personal preferences.

Should you be in search of a part-time pump that prioritizes comfort (especially ideal for those with sensitive nipples), efficiency, and discretion, then the S21 is likely to suit you perfectly.

For those looking for a budget friendly wearable pump for frequent pumping or have an oversupply of breast milk, then the S10 Pro is definitely worth considering.
