We were impressed by the size range, which allows parents to keep using their preferred diaper for longer.

We were also pleased with the fit of Baby Dry diapers, which use stretchy sides and large tape fasteners to keep the diaper in place.

The large tape fasteners are fantastic at holding the diaper up, even when lying down. And the stretchy sides allowed the Baby Dry diapers to form a snug fit without becoming too tight.

The diapers do hold an impressive amount of liquid — even heavy wetters can get through the nights without leaks.

The Dri-Weave liner absorbs quickly, keeping the skin dry and healthy. It isn’t quite as soft as other liners, but the cotton feel aids comfort and absorbency.

3 layers of absorbency work together to pull the liquid away from the skin, and the LockAway channels keep it in the diaper.

To protect where leaks happen most – at the legs – Baby Dry diapers come equipped with dual Leak-Guard barriers.

These are used alongside the stretchy sides to ensure there are no gaps for leaks to get through. 

Baby Dry diapers are suitable for use both during the day and overnight. Some parents might find that the Baby Dry diapers aren’t ideal for nighttime use, particularly for heavy wetters.

Pampers Cruisers are available in a limited size range, from size 3 to 7. This is suitable for babies from 16 pounds to 41 pounds and upwards.

There are no newborn or smaller sizes. While this might initially seem like a negative, it makes sense when you consider the purpose of Cruisers.

These are diapers designed for older babies, who are starting to move freely.

Babies typically begin pushing themselves up and trying to explore when they’re around 16 pounds. So, Cruisers wouldn’t be much use in sizes 1 and 2!

Because these are designed for active babies, fit is essential to the Cruisers. They use a unique 3-way fit, which adapts at the waist, legs, and bottom.

This should ensure the diaper is snug and secure, without inhibiting movement. Cruisers also use a stay-put waist with strong grips and even stretchier sides.

This should reduce leaks, hold the diaper in place, and allow your baby to run and explore. We were happy with the fit of the Pampers Cruisers.

Pampers Cruisers offer up to 12 hours of leak protection.  Dual-Leak guard barriers are in place to stop leaks at the legs, while the stretchier sides can help prevent blowouts.

LockAway channels add to the overnight protection, keeping moisture inside the diaper for longer.

Cruisers diapers can be used both day and night, although they’re primarily aimed at daytime use. For heavy wetters, the Cruisers might not hold up to overnight use.

However, we were impressed with the fit overnight. No amount of wriggling worked the diapers loose, reducing the risk of messy mornings. 

The Cruisers also come equipped with a wetness indicator. This is a simple colored strip on the front of the diaper that changes color as it gets wet.

Baby Dry and Cruisers are both diaper ranges from Pampers, so you can expect some similarities.

These similarities can reassure parents that they’re making the right choice, whatever diaper they choose.

We’ll start with the obvious: Cruisers and Baby Dry are both made by Pampers.

Pampers are a well-known brand that parents have been relying on for years to provide absorbency and comfort. When you buy Pampers, you have some idea of the kind of quality to be expected.

Pampers diapers are also widely available, and parents should be able to find Cruisers and Baby Dry on the shelves of their favorite stores. They’re also both sold online. 

Hypoallergenic And Skin Safe

Cruisers and Baby Dry diapers are both hypoallergenic, and tested by dermatologists.

Both diapers are free from natural rubber latex and parabens. They’re safe to use against the delicate skin of newborns.

However, neither brand is the softest range on offer from Pampers, and aren’t designed specifically for sensitive skin. If rashes and redness have been a concern, you might want to avoid either offering.

Pampers claim that both Cruisers and Baby Dry diapers offer up to 12 hours of leak protection.

This is thanks to the secure fit, Leak-Guard leg barriers, and absorbency channels. We were impressed with the leak protection of both the Cruisers and Baby Dry diapers, and think they do live up to their claims.

However, if we had to pick a winner, we’d give it to the Baby Dry diapers.

Their leak protection is superb, and even heavy wetters can have dry mornings with the Baby Dry. But it does depend on the fit, which we’ll discuss in more detail below.

Ease Of Use

New parents can rest assured that both the Pampers Baby Dry and Cruisers diapers allow for quick changes!

They’re both easy to use, and shouldn’t present problems for even first time diaper changes.

Fragrance

Pampers use a light fragrance in both the baby Dry and Cruisers range.

This can help mask the unpleasant smell of the diaper, although it won’t entirely hide it. For many parents, a light scent is preferred.

But if your baby has particularly sensitive skin, you might want to avoid scented diapers. Even light fragrances can sometimes lead to irritation and redness.

The first, and most obvious difference, is the size range the diapers are available in. Baby Dry are sold in newborn sizes all the way to size 6.

If you like the Baby Dry style, you can keep using it until your little one is ready for training pants!

We love the inclusivity of the sizing range, although we do find it means the Baby Dry diapers lack some specialized features. For example, the newborn sizes don’t include an umbilical cord notch.

Cruisers have a smaller sizing range, and are only available from size 3 to 7. However, there’s a good reason for this.

Cruisers are designed for babies that are moving around, and when they’re too small for size 3, they probably aren’t ready to crawl.

We also like that the Cruisers are available in size 7, so can be used for older children who might need a little extra time for potty training. 

Age

Cruisers and Baby Dry diapers are both aimed at different age ranges.

Cruisers are specifically for older babies. The size range and flexibility are designed to accommodate movement.

Many parents will start with a different type of diaper, such as Pampers Swaddlers, before moving onto the Cruisers.

Baby Dry have a larger age range, and are suitable for use from newborns through to potty training. However, we prefer them for older children.

They lack the extra softness that’s traditionally associated with a newborn diaper, and the snug fit is better for movement and overnights. 

Although Cruisers and Baby Dry are, on the surface, better for different ages, we prefer them both for older babies.

And when it comes to suiting the needs of older babies, Cruisers came out on top. 

Fit

Fit is crucial to the comfort and performance of a diaper. We loved the 3-way fit of Cruisers.

It adapts in 3 key areas – the waist, the bottom, and the legs – keeping the diaper secure without preventing movement.

Extra stretchy sides add a long-lasting fit with strong grips keeping the diaper in place.

The Baby Dry fit is slightly less specialized, using all-around stretchy slides to accommodate movement and prevent blowouts.

We like the fit of the Baby Dry diapers, although some parents have found the diapers run small. 

Wetness Indicator

This is a bit of an odd difference, and potentially something Pampers will look into changing.

The wetness indicator is a simple strip on the front of the diaper that changes color when wet.

Some parents love the wetness indicator, while others don’t find it useful. The wetness indicator can be found on both the Baby Dry and Cruisers diapers.

The odd thing is that the Baby Dry diapers only have the wetness indicator on size Newborn, 1, and 2.

It isn’t a major issue, but it is a shame that they don’t use the wetness indicator in the full range. Hopefully, this is something that will change in the future.

Day And Night Use

!2-hour leak protection means that both Baby Dry and Cruisers diapers can be used during the day and overnight.

We prefer the Cruisers diapers during the day, as the flexible fit and secure sides were best for movement.

Overnight, we felt the Baby Dry diapers were better. The extra absorbency and all round stretchy sides meant we were less worried about waking up to messy mornings. 

Comfort

Although both diapers did have a cotton softness, we felt the Cruisers range had the edge when it came to comfort.

They were gentle and flexible, and that opinion seems to be shared by many parents.

Baby Dry diapers were still soft, but they lacked the premium finish of the Cruisers. For most babies, we don’t think this will be an issue.

However, babies with extra sensitive skin might find the Baby Dry range causes some redness. 

Price

Pampers are known for their mid-budget diapers. They aren’t a premium brand, but budget-conscious parents will be able to find more affordable options.

We think Cruisers and Baby Dry are similarly priced, but Baby Dry is cheaper per diaper on average.

Overall, we prefer Pampers Cruisers diapers. The 3-way fit is exceptional, providing children the opportunity to run and explore, without the risk of a lost diaper.

We also think the Cruisers range feels softer and more comfortable. For older children, the Cruisers are an excellent choice, especially as they’re sold in a size 7.

However, when it comes to overnight protection, we like the added absorbency of Baby Dry diapers.

They might lack some of the flexible fit of the Cruisers range, but we still found this diaper stayed in place overnight.

And each diaper is cheaper on average, making it a good choice for parents who want Pampers quality on a tighter budget.

Impressive absorbency and longer leak protection make the Cruisers and Baby Dry both excellent choices for parents of older babies.

We also like the flexible fit of both options, which worked for kids who were starting to crawl and walk.

We like the Cruisers best, because of their superior fit and quality finish. But we’d be happy to use both diapers, as there were many similarities between the ranges.
