Mockingbird Double Stroller Review
The Mockingbird single to double stroller is unique amongst other strollers because rather than sit your two little ones side by side, it places one above another.
This alone has brought it considerable praise from parents because it means being able to get through store doors with both your kids in tow.
But that’s not all it has to offer – not by a long shot.

Mockingbird Double Stroller Review
Where the Mockingbird double stroller differs from any other double stroller on the market is that you can either use it as a single stroller, or you can attach an additional seat onto the same frame and use it as a double stroller.
You typically have to pay for each seat separately, but even when you do, it works out at a far more reasonable and affordable price than most other double strollers on the market today.
The strongest benefit to this stroller is the sheer number of configurations for the two seats, which we’ll be covering in a little more detail very shortly.
But that’s not it’s only plus point, and we found that there was a lot to love about this stroller.
Seat Configurations
Single Seat Positioning
When you have just one seat attached, this can be positioned 5 different ways.
You can have the baby facing forward, so they can see where they’re going, or they can be facing the parent for some interaction.
They can be sat upright, or they can be reclined so far back it’s as good as flat. And this is great because it helps to put the baby to sleep if they’re leaning back.
Or if they’re a newborn, you can buy a bassinet that you put in place of the seat so that they can lie flat as a pancake.
Double Seat Positioning
There’s just as much versatility with the double seat positioning.
You can have both babies facing forward, both babies facing the parent, or have the babies facing each other.
You can also adjust the level of recline of each seat. In fact, there are a whopping 18 configurations possible.
Ease Of Use
We tried out each of the 18 double seat configurations to test how easy it is to set up, and we were impressed.
We can confirm that you only need one adult to set up any of the configurations.
The only issue we found was that some of the adapters were a little stiff, but you would expect that on a brand-new model anyway, and this will go in time.
Aesthetic
The aesthetic of the Mockingbird double stroller is also one of its many strong points. It’s very smart and sleek, and could easily pass for an expensive high-end stroller.
It’s available in a range of different colors, including black, sea, sky, bloom, and sage.
The two handlebars feature a leatherette covering, and there’s also a pattern on the inside of the canopy, to stimulate the baby’s vision.
You can choose from watercolor drops or windowpane.
Protection From The Elements
The canopies provide UPF 50+ protection from harmful UV rays. And there’s an additional shade that you can pull over the whole of each seat, secured by a magnetic closure.
We were disappointed to learn that the stroller didn’t come with a rain fly included, but you can buy one separately. Sadly, the rain fly only fits over the stroller in certain configurations.
Kiddie Security & Comfort
As we mentioned earlier, each seat can be set upright or as good as flat, so if one or both babies starts to get tired, they can comfortably relax and nod off.
Each seat features a secure 5-point harness to keep each child in place. The straps of this harness feature padding and will not chafe.
There’s also an adjustable footrest for each seat.
Maneuverability
Normally, we find that strollers with just 3 wheels are far more easy to maneuver than ones with 4, since with a 3 wheel stroller the front wheel can be swiveled or locked.
That said, however, when we actually tried it out, we were impressed with the maneuverability of the Mockingbird.
We got it to roll over a large patch of un-mown grass and found that it rolled across quite easily. We put this down to the large air-filled tires.
As you may imagine, being a double stroller it’s not as lightweight as a single stroller.
At 26 pounds, however, it’s comparable in weight to most other double strollers on the market.
And from actually trying out, we found that it’s way easier to maneuver than having to carry one of the kids in one arm!
Car Seat Compatibility
One of the great things about the Mockingbird double stroller is that it’s compatible with a wide range of car seat brands.
These brands include the likes of Britax, Chicco, Cybex, Graco, Everflo, and Maxi-Cosi.
All you have to do is buy the compatible adapter, which is generally inexpensive, and you can effectively turn the stroller into a fully blown travel system.
Folding Down
We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the stroller can be folded down with both seats still attached.
Once we worked out how the seats can be folded, we tried folding it down one-handed. This did prove tricky at first, but we can confirm that it can be done.
Convenience Features
The storage basket at the bottom of the stroller’s frame is impressively deep and large, and is capable of holding way more gear than just your diaper bag.
This basket also features a zippered side pocket, which is perfect for stashing items that you don’t want getting wet from rain.
There’s also a hidden compartment pocket in the back of each seat, which is perfect for stashing such valuables as your smartphone, keys, or wallet, that you might want to keep close at hand.
Affordability
As we mentioned in an earlier section, the Mockingbird double stroller is very reasonably priced, even after you add on the cost of the additional seat, and all the adapters and other necessary accessories.
The reason Mockingbird is able to offer such competitive pricing is because they cut out the middle man.
By bypassing the retailers, the wholesale discount that would have been passed on to the retailer, is instead passed to you, the consumer.
Thus, the competitive pricing is not down to shoddy quality, and in fact you get a lot of high-end features in the stroller that would have cost you hundreds of dollars more than you would with most other double strollers out there.
Excellent value for money.
How Long Will It Last
Each of the two seats can accommodate children up to a weight of a whopping 45 pounds. And just to put that into perspective, 45 pounds is the average weight of a 5 to 6 year old.
Granted, it won’t actually last until they are 5 or 6, because their limbs will grow too long for the seat.
But you should certainly get a lot of use out of it before you pass it on to someone else. Which makes it great value for money.

On the manufacturer’s website, there are well over 2,500 customer reviews, and still the average customer ratings is a whopping 5 stars out of 5.
At first we decided to take this with a pinch of salt. After all, the manufacturer can pick and choose what reviews they display on their website.
However, we noticed that all across the net, everyone who reviewed it, like us, had a very positive impression, and gave it glowing reviews.
In fact, many of those who reviewed it described it as the best double stroller on the market.
