How to Open a Stroller

There are many different types of strollers on the market today, but they all have some things in common: wheels that roll, handles that can be pulled up and down, and brakes that stop them from rolling away.

This guide will teach you the basics on how to open your stroller easily and safely.

How to Open a Baby Stroller: Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 – Locate your Stroller Release Button

The first thing you need is locate your stroller release button. This is a button or lever that when activated will release the locking mechanism that is holding your stroller together in its folded position.

You can generally locate the locks by looking at the center of the side of the stroller. These are plastic latches that hook from one frame bar to another frame bar.

Many strollers with a one handed opening feature will have a release button on the handlebar or as a foot pedal near the wheels.

Other stroller may have two buttons or levers (one for each side) that release the front and back wheels at once.

If you can not find the release button, then you may need to refer to your stroller’s user manual.

Step 2 – Hold the Handlebars

Once you’ve located the release button you are going to want to begin by bringing your baby stroller into an upright position and taking hold of the handlebars.

Step 3 – Unlock the Frame

After you are holding the handlebars, you can then go ahead and unlock the frame.

If your stroller comes in 1 part then you will be ready to go.

Step 6 – Lock Seat or Bassinet into Place

Once you’ve locked your stroller frame into place you’ll then need to attached your car capsule, bassinet or seat.

This is done by lining up the seat with the frame and pushing down until your hear a clicking sound that locks it into place.
