Freemie Breast Pump Review

The Freemie breast pump is a hands-free breast pump that attaches to the side of the mother’s bra.

It is designed to be used while she is doing other things like working at her desk, cooking dinner, watching TV, etc.

The Freemie breast pump works by using a vacuum to pull the milk from the breasts into the collection container.

When the milk reaches the desired amount, the user simply unclasps the cups and removes the bottle.

This breast pump comes with noise reduction technology making it super quiet. Even better it comes with a programmable Sleep Timer so you can sleep while collecting oz’s.

With the low noise level and the fact that it fits into your bra, the Freemie is also an incredibly discreet breast pump.

This means that you can use it anywhere, anytime, and the people around you probably won’t even notice.

Even though the Freemie is a hands-free breast pump, it is not entirely cordless.

The cords can appear bulky underneath your clothes and are the only feature that could get in the way of discreet breast pumping.

However, if you wear loose clothing then it should not be a problem.

Even with the cords, you still have lots of choice when it comes to what position you want to pump in. You can be standing, sitting, lying down, or even walking around.

The Freemie breast pump has one of the best milk capacities on the market.

It can hold up to 8 ounces of milk, whereas a lot of other pumps can only hold 4 to 5 ounces.

This makes it a great choice for women who express a lot of milk in one sitting.

The Freemie breast pumps are very simple to clean. There is no cleaning fluid required. Simply rinse the parts under warm water and let the air dry.

One of the downsides to this breast pump compared with some others is that the milk containers are not dishwasher safe, which means you have to wash them by hand.

There are several options for storing the Freemie breast pump including a storage bag, a travel case, a carrying pouch, and a carry strap.

The bottles come with a wide mouth opening that allows for easy feeding.

The bottle also features a nipple shield that prevents the nipple from being pinched during feeding.

The standard Freemie breast pump comes with a 25mm breast shield or flange which should be suitable for most women.

The Deluxe option also comes with an additional 28mm breast shield. Unfortunately, there is no option for a breast shield smaller than 25mm.

The Freemie is rechargeable via micro USB and it takes around 2 hours to fully charge the battery.

The battery power is visible via an LED display so you can make sure that you are now going to run out of juice in the middle of a pumping session.

When it comes to suction, there are 10 different levels you can choose from.

Once you have adjusted the speed and suction level, you can save this setting along with two others so that your favorites are always easy to access.

There is also a Turbo mode which is when the speed is at its lowest. This is designed to be a long draw cycle that shuts off automatically after 40 minutes.

This is ideal if you want to express milk whilst you are napping, or while you are working.

The pumping is more gentle and you don’t need to remember to switch off the pump.

The Freemie comes with a one-year warranty. After a year, it is recommended that the cup valves are replaced and you might find that some of the other parts might need replacing.

While the Freemie offers excellent hands-free pumping, it is on the more expensive side of things.

You can find hands-free pumps at a lower cost than this.

However, if you have the budget for this pump, then it is a fine choice! Just be sure you carefully consider your budget before making your purchase.
