UPPAbaby Vista V2 Stroller

Having versatility when it comes to a stroller is paramount and the UPPAbaby Vista V2 Stroller has versatility in spades!

It can be used as a single, double, or even a triple stroller with the addition of a PiggyBack ride adaptation.

Seats can be forward facing or outward facing and you can use a bassinet or a sit up / reclining seat allowing it to adapt with your growing family.

It is also compatible with MESA Infant Car seat.

And best of all, the new spring-action all-wheel suspension and slightly softer tires make it easy to maneuver.

Toddler Seat & Canopy

The UPPAbaby Vista is suitable for children from 3 months old, with a bassinet that you can use for a newborn. The toddler seat has a weight capacity of 50 pounds.

This differs from the City Select that is suitable for children from 6 months old and has a weight capacity of 45 pounds.

Parents who have used these products say that they are both suitable for children up to 3 and a half years old.

The UPPAbaby Vista offers 6 reclining positions whereas the City Select offers only 3. Neither seat reclines to a completely flat position as they both use bucket-style seats. If you use the bassinet attachment on the UPPAbaby vista then you will be able to put your baby in a flat position.

The footrests on both strollers are adjustable which means that you should be able to ensure a comfortable position for your child. They also both offer the benefit of reversible seats which means you can choose for them to be parent facing or world facing.

Both seats have a 5 point security harness which is perfect for your peace of mind. The City Select goes one step further and has a padded cover for the crotch strap, providing that extra bit of comfort.

Both strollers have a large extendable canopy. The City Select canopy is made up of three panels of the same fabric.

The UPPAbaby Vista has 2 panels plus a long sun visor that is a few inches longer than the city Select Canopy when it is fully extended. This means it does provide that extra bit of protection from the sun or windy weather conditions.

Sibling Seat

As mentioned above, both of these strollers can be converted from a single stroller to a double stroller. The UPPAbaby Vista offers a ‘rumble seat’ which has a capacity of around 35 pounds and is 36 inches wide.

This means that the smaller of the two children would use the rumble seat.

There is no option to add a second toddler seat with the same width and weight capacity. There is also less versatility as the rumble seat has to be attached at the bottom and the toddler seat has to be attached at the top, you cannot switch them around.

The City Select Baby Jogger has a second additional seat that is identical to the first.

This means you can put either child in either seat, which is much more convenient. It also prevents your children from fighting over the bigger seat or the seating position.

Anyone with children will know that this will make your life as a parent a lot easier.

When it comes to seating, the Vista offers 13 different configurations and the City Select offers 16.

The Vista has 4 seating options for one child and 9 for two children, with the option to attach two bassinets, two infant car seats, a toddler seat and a rumble seat, a bassinet and a toddler seat, an infant car seat. and a toddler seat, or an infant car seat and a rumble seat.

The City Select offers 4 seating options for one child and 11 for two children, with two toddler seats, two bassinets, two infant car seats, or a mix and match.

Handlebar

A feature that often gets overlooked when you are shopping for strollers is the handlebar.

Whilst it is very important that the child is comfortable, you also need to feel comfortable when you are pushing the stroller.

Both of these strollers have an adjustable telescopic handlebar which is ideal for tall parents as it gives them more space behind the stroller.

The UPPAbaby Vista has a leather cover on the handlebar whereas the City Select has a rubber grip. They are both comfortable with a nice feel under your hands, so it comes down to personal preference as to which one you would prefer.

The Vista handlebar can be adjusted from 39.5 inches high to 42.5 inches high, whereas the City Select handle goes from 40.75 inches to 43.11 inches.

This might be a little too high for shorter parents. It is a good idea to test one out in a shop if you can to make sure it is the right height for you to push comfortably.

Wheels, Suspension & Brakes

Both of these strollers perform well on a range of different terrains, from cobblestone to packed gravel, from grass to snow. Neither is great for use on the sand and they are designed for city use, but the occasional rough terrain will be fine.

The wheels on the UPPAbaby Vista are made from Polyurethane. The front wheels are smaller than the rear wheels which helps it to perform well on rough terrain, and it has an all-wheel suspension which makes it easy to maneuver.

You can use it with one hand fairly easily. The City Select has large foam rear wheels and smaller plastic front wheels. There is suspension on the front wheels but not the rear.

It provides a relatively smooth ride and is also very easy to direct and steer. Whichever stroller you choose, you will need to use two hands a bit more power when you are pushing it with two children onboard instead of one.

The brakes are extremely important as they are there to keep your child safe. The UPPAbaby Vista has a foot brake that you tap to engage and then tap again to release.

The City Select uses a 2 in 1 decelerating and a parking brake that you operate with your hand. both braking systems work well so it comes down to which one you prefer.

You might find the hand brake a bit more convenient, though the foot brake is good if your hands are full.

Storage Space, Folding, Weight, And Size

Both strollers have a storage basket underneath the seat, but the Vista can hold up to 30 pounds of storage whilst the City Select can hold up to 15 pounds. This makes the Vista a bit more useful if you take the stroller to go shopping or you have lots of items for two children that you need to store.

In terms of folding the strollers, the UPPAbaby Vista is a lot easier. It takes a few seconds to fold the stroller even with two seats attached, and you can do it with one hand.

It also has a self-standing mechanism and an auto-locking system which are useful. You need two hands to fold the City Select Baby Jogger, and it can only be done when one seat is attached. If you are using the second seat then you will need to remove it first.

The strollers are similar sizes overall, but there are some differences. The UPPAbaby Vista will be larger when folded up if you have left the second seat attached, which could be important for storing the stroller.

However, the City Select is taller which can make it more difficult to maneuver in certain places. The City Select is also heavier with the second seat attached than the Vista, which can make it more difficult to steer.

Price Comparison

Both of these strollers are extremely popular. They fall into the category of convertible strollers, as they are single strollers that can be adjusted to seat a second child.

This makes them ideal for growing families.

The pricing can be a little tricky to work out initially. The UPPAbaby Vista comes with more attachments for the basic model, with the option to purchase additional items separately.

You will get a stroller with a bumper bar, a bassinet, two bug shields, a rain shield, and a storage bag as part of the basic model.

The City Select stroller is almost half the price, but the basic model comes with just the stroller and no additional items. If you price up the cost of purchasing the same items as you would receive with the UPPAbaby Vista then they end up costing around the same price.

Final Thoughts on Uppababy Vista vs City Select Stollers

There is no clear winner between these two products. They both have some excellent features and are very well made.

The UPPAbaby Vista performs better as a single stroller and is more convenient in a lot of ways, but the City Select Jogger offers more versatility in terms of seating positions. It can also be cheaper if you decide not to go for all of the accessories.
