As mothers we’re faced with this daily task, and we’re strong enough to see it through, we are. But we were never designed to master it.
“Blink and you’ll miss it”, they say. But we don’t miss it. We miss saying goodbye to it.
She’d allowed me to see myself through her eyes, and that maybe, this is what us Mama’s ‘doing our best’ truly looks like.
What I do remember is feeling safe. I remember you taught me about love before anything else and how it was my constant.
It was you that showed me a different view of the world. My decisions, memories, dreams, are all shaped with you.
I’ll hold onto those precious cuddles, because one day, even when you need me less, you’ll know that I’ll be there.
They grow so fast (but you won’t enjoy every minute) but, you’ll get better at this, but mostly you’ll get better at just rolling with it.
Mom, there is so much I didn’t understand back then, but now I do. I love you. I understand everything now.
Mama, I can’t see past you right now, I’m so small and everything’s a little blurry. All I see is you. You’re perfect to me.
Motherhood is one beautiful contradiction! It’s exhaustion but effortless love. It’s the hardest and most rewarding thing ever.
